Tomoko Iguchi was born in Tokyo, Japan. At the age of seven, she started taking violin lessons in Mexico City while her family lived there for three years. After her family returned to Japan, she graduated from the Toho High School of Music and from the Toho School of Music in Tokyo, Japan. In 1993, Iguchi moved to the United States to join The New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. She has been a member of The Kansas City Symphony since 1995.  Iguchi  is a member of the Solistas Mexico Japon, a chamber group based in Mexico City. Besides performing with the Kansas City Symphony, she performs solo recitals, chamber music and maintains a private studio. She is a faculty member of the Forerunner Music Academy in Grandview, Missouri.
